I am a software engineer and well as a designer, light fabricator, and general maker based out of Atlanta, GA. Below is a sample of some of my work. If you would like to work with me on a project please use the contact form below.
With the exception of the team logo in the center I designed these plates from scratch. I choose a gothic aesthetic to match the style of Warhammer 40k. These .25 inch 304 stainless steel plates started as rough bar and were machined, ground, and polished to a semi-mirror finish. Then they were exposed to a laser to grow an oxide layer responsible for the colors you see. There is no paint or dye of any kind on these plates. The full set contains 8 plates each weighing just under 1 pound.
This series of 12 stone tiles was laser etched and highlighted with gold paint. There are four sets of three plates. Each set of three plates is combined with a blank plate to make a 12 inch high rectangular prism which was used as an escape room prop.
A second set of 12 tiles was also created in black and silver.
This set of coins was made for the Atlanta ACX meetup group. Coins of this type are a commonly requested project.
Part of my 'Caution: Maker' series this lanyard is an example of my dye sublimation and industrial sewing work.
These two blocks are make of Corian, a synthetic quartz stone material frequently used for countertops. The left example is blank and the right is a piece I have processed. The color becomes part of the stone and cannot be removed unless the stone itself to ground away.
This is my personal logo laser marked into 16 gauge 304 stainless steel. Velcro on the back attaches it to matching velcro on the shoulder of my jackets. All of the color is created by controlled oxidization of the steel. No paints for dyes are used in this piece.
If you have a project you would like to discuss, please let me know.
